DEANS Announces Award Nominees

Destination Eastern and Northumberland Shores is getting ready to host its annual Gala Awards which honour those in the local tourism industry.

The DEANS Gala Awards Dinner will be taking place on April 2nd at Glasgow Square Theatre.
Guest Speaker is Terry Kelly.
Tickets are $75 each, or a table of 8 for $525.

The Mike Broomfield Rising Star Award
This award will be presented to a new tourism sector business or attraction established within the last 5 years that demonstrate strong potential for tourism development within the DEANS region. Judges will be looking at Innovation, Creativity, Dedication, Community Contribution and Business Achievement.

• Wild Islands Tourism Advancement Partnership
• RICHES program, Sherbrooke Village

Marketing Award
This award will be presented to a tourism sector accommodation or attraction, which has made a marketing impact on the local tourism scene, bringing high profile to the DEANS region. Judges will be looking at Innovation, Creativity, Dedication, Marketing Impact and Leadership.

CEO Award – Chief Experience Opportunity
This award will be presented to a tourism sector individual, business or attraction, which has been stalwart on the regional tourism and cultural scene, leading the way as an example of excellence. Judges will be looking at Commitment and Inspiration, Business Achievement, Community Involvement, Length of Service and Leadership.

The Carlton Munroe Festivals and Events Award
Presented to a festival or event, which has served as an attraction, drawing significant visitors to the area and promotes the growth of the local tourism industry. Judges will be looking at Quality of Event, Innovation and Creativity, Consistency, Community Impact and Pride and Economic Spin-offs.

The Flavour Award
This award will be presented to a food and beverage establishment which has made an impact on creating an experience for the visitor. Judges will be looking at Innovation, Creativity, Dedication, Vision, Originality and Lasting impression.

The Sports Impact Award
This award will be presented to a sports-related event or organization that demonstrates a significant tourism impact to our region. Judges will be looking at Economic Impact and Lasting Impression.
