Only Game in Town being shown at River John Fire Hall

The Sunrise Film Festival will be screening the comedy ‘The Only Game in Town’ plus a short film at the River John Fire Hall as a fundraiser for the fire hall.  This will take place on Thursday 18th July 2019 at 7pm.  Tickets are $10 and are available at the door and there will be a licensed bar.

‘The Only Game in Town’ is the story of Cormack Vertue, an autistic teenager with a unique ability: his super skill at the card game solitaire.  This skill lands him on his school’s solitaire team, complicates his social life and sends him on a quest to establish who he really is and what he stands for.

The film, which was filmed entirely along the north shore of Nova Scotia and featured many local residents, was a semi-finalist in the Sydney (Australia) Indie Film Festival in 2018 and semi-finalist in the Comedy World Network International Film Festival in Las Vegas.

The film's producer Stuart Cresswell said: "It is the first time the film will have been screened in Canada after being edited for film festivals and it's great to be able to bring the film back to its home town."

Stuart will be available afterwards for book signings of ‘The Only Film in Town’, a book about the making of the film and published by Nimbus.
