    The quarterly meeting of the Pictou County Firefighters will be held June 19th at 8 p.m. in the Thorburn Fire Hall. Andrew Brown from the Fire Underwriters Survey will be in attendance to explain questions related to the superior tanker shuttle service.

    The 25th Annual Summer Street Golf Scramble will take place Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Abercrombie Country Club in New Glasgow.

    This years theme will be "Socialbe..East Coast Kitchen Party" It all begins with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. and concludes mid-afternoon with a reception and dinner at Summer Street on Park Street.

    This year as it is our 25th year we are adding some extra celebrations, so following the banquet and awards we are inviting all to stay enjoy an East Coast Kitchen Party! More details to follow.

    To keep in the spirit of celebrating 25 years of success of the golf scramble we are asking each time to consider what their favourite year/theme was and to dress their team and cart with this theme. For example if you liked The 80's then dig out your neon and leg warmers.

    Welcome to our eighth annual Walk the Walk for Autism 2019! We can't wait to see you in Stellarton on Saturday June 22 to help promote autism awareness in Pictou County. We will have three bouncy houses, a huge silent auction with something for everyone, complimentary Tim Horton's coffee, a fully stocked BBQ, more than a dozen fun carnival games and activities including our famous Bubble Zone, and hundreds of smiles and countless memories. 9:30-10:30 AM - Registration / Sign In; be sure to bring your payments and pledge forms; additional T-Shirts will be available while supplies last.

    10:30-10:45 AM - Sponsor / Participant Appreciation and Announcements

    11:00-11:30 AM - Walk

    11:30-2:00 PM Carnival Games, Bouncy Houses, Silent Auction, BBQ, Fun and Memories!

    ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE FRIDAY, JUNE 21st at 11:00 AM. You may still register on Saturday morning in person at the Walk so arrive early.

    Location: G. R. Saunders Elementary School, 71 Bridge Avenue, Stellarton.

    Walk Route will begin at G.R. Saunders Elementary School, proceed down Allan Avenue, right on South Foord Street, right on Jubilee Avenue, right on Park Street, left on Allen Avenue then back to the school. The route is approximately 1km.

    This show brings together two busy powerhouses of Canadian roots music. Daniel Lapp grew up in Prince George, BC in a house with deep prairie roots that included his musical mother, an old-time piano player/teacher and a grandpa and 5 uncles who were all committed to the old time dancing fiddle tradition. He received his BMus from UVic studying trumpet and over the past 30 years has toured across Europe, Australia, China, Israel, the USA and Canada playing a plethora of musical styles. Stephanie Cadman is that rare, extraordinary thing: a quadruple threat..A world-renowned dancer, an accomplished actress of stage and screen, a virtuoso musician, and a knockout singer, Stephanie’s talents know no bounds.
